description El objetivo de la investigación es determinar el comercio internacional y competitividad de dátiles peruanos durante el periodo 2008-2016. Para realizar el estudio adecuado, se obtuvo que buscar datos a través de la operacionalizacion de las variables, como el comercio internacional y competitividad, separar las dimensiones y poner sus indicadores a cada uno para la exportación e importación el volumen, valor y precio. Por la variable de competitividad, sus indicadores son productividad y costo unitario de producción. En conclusión se demuestra que el comercio internacional de dátiles ha tenido una tendencia creciente en el valor tanto en las exportaciones como importaciones, donde en el volumen tubo una tendencia decreciente para ambos. Por otra parte la exportación de dátiles ha sido competitiva durante el periodo 2008-2016.
