description La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general proponer un plan estratégico para la mejora de la toma de decisiones en la municipalidad provincial de Chiclayo. Los resultados más relevantes son que el 52,20 % está totalmente de acuerdo y acuerdo que en la comuna chiclayana se tiene procedimientos de plan estratégico, el 21,7 % es indiferente y el 26,10 % está totalmente en desacuerdo y desacuerdo. Estos indicadores muestran que en la institución el plan estratégico tiene elementos como la misión, visión, fortalezas, amenazas, objetivos, estrategias, programas, ejecución y retroalimentación. Finalmente se concluye que la propuesta debe estar enmarcada en los elementos siguientes: Misión, visión, fortalezas, debilidades, amenazas, oportunidades, objetivos, estrategias, programas, ejecución y retroalimentación.
