Al grupo experimental se le aplicó catorce sesiones de aprendizaje utilizando los entornos virtuales, luego se aplicó un pos test debidamente validado por tres expertos en el tema. La presente investigación es de tipo aplicada, experimental, cuantitativo y transversal teniendo un diseño de investigación pre experimental. Los resultados finales se estimaron aplicando inferencias estadísticas a través de la prueba T de Student y se determinó que después de la aplicación del manual el 90% de la población se encontró en un nivel avanzado, el 10% en un nivel intermedio y no hubo ninguno en el nivel de inicio, apreciándose de manera significativa la diferencia de los promedios finales de la capacitación en la fase pos test. Las conclusiones obtenidas afirman la significancia bilateral de 0,000 que es menor a 0,05 por lo tanto el manual de sistema de información geográfica influye en el desarrollo urbano sostenible de la Municipalidad Provincial de Morropón-Chulucanas.
