La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo, elaborar lineamientos estratégicos que debe contener una propuesta de gestión municipal para el desarrollo turístico local en un distrito de Yungay, 2024. Se empleó un enfoque mixto con un diseño explicativo secuencial, recolectando datos de 45 entes relacionados al turismo para la muestra cuantitativa y cinco gestores municipales para la muestra cualitativa. Los instrumentos fueron la encuesta y guía de entrevista, fueron validados por tres jueces expertos. Los resultados revelaron un descontento generalizado con la gestión municipal actual, evidenciando una falta de enfoque integral y la necesidad de una revisión exhaustiva de las políticas y prácticas. Se identificaron deficiencias en planificación, infraestructura, participación comunitaria y gestión ambiental. Concluyendo que, la propuesta de gestión municipal debe contener los lineamientos: integral, participativa y sostenible, abordando las deficiencias actuales para aprovechar el potencial turístico del distrito y generar beneficios para la comunidad local.
