description El presente trabajo de investigación surgió como una necesidad de determinar el nivel de relación que existe entre las habilidades blandas y el desempeño laboral en la municipalidad de Pomahuaca, provincia de Jaén, considerando que al realizar el análisis de la problemática se observó que, precisamente es pertinente llevar a cabo un estudio que contribuya a establecer el nivel de significatividad, respecto de las habilidades blandas y el desempeño laboral. Esta situación motivó la realización del presente estudio fundamentado en la teoría de la inteligencia emocional de Goleman, la teoría de la inteligencia exitosa de Sternberg, la teoría de la interdependencia social de Johnson y Johnson y al teoría de las relaciones humanas de Chiavenato. El nivel de relación que existe entre las habilidades blandas y el desempeño laboral en la municipalidad de Pomahuaca, provincia de Jaén se determinó a través del test elaborado por el investigador y validado por expertos en investigación científica quienes han tenido en cuenta las dimensiones, indicadores e instrumentos. El estudio se realizó orientado por el tipo de investigación correlacional y el diseño no experimental. Se trabajó con una población de 44 integrantes. Luego del proceso se procedió a analizar, interpretar y discutir los resultados, concluyendo que el desarrollo de las habilidades blandas y el desempeño laboral tienen implicancia recíproca en la municipalidad de Pomahuaca, provincia de Jaén
