Con el propósito de informar cuántos pacientes con Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 que asistieron a su control en el Hospital I Albrecht de Trujillo en el año 2016 cumplen con el tratamiento indicado e identificar como esto interviene en su calidad de vida. Se realizó este trabajo de investigación tomando como muestra a 108 pacientes con un tiempo de tratamiento mayor a un mes. El objetivo fue determinar la relación entre adhesión al tratamiento y calidad de vida de los pacientes con Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 que asisten al Hospital I Albrecht de Trujillo 2016. Estudio correlacional en el cual se aplicó el cuestionario SDSCA de Toobert, Hampson & Glasgow para evaluar la Adhesión al tratamiento y el cuestionario EsDQOL, para la Calidad de vida. El 70.37% de la población encuestada sí presentó adherencia al tratamiento; el 55.56% presentó una regular calidad de vida y se comprobó la relación estadística entre la adherencia al tratamiento y la calidad de vida de los pacientes diabéticos que asisten al Hospital I Albrecht de Trujillo. El estudio concluye que los pacientes con Diabetes Mellitus Tipo 2 que tuvieron adherencia al tratamiento presentaron una regular calidad de vida.
