Resultados: Hubo predominio de gestantes entre 15 a 20 años con un 22%. El total de gestantes con Índice de higiene oral excelente el 50% tuvieron un conocimiento regular y malo respectivamente. Del total de gestantes con Índice de higiene oral bueno, el 60,5% tuvieron un conocimiento regular, el 39% un conocimiento malo y el 0,5% un conocimiento bueno. Del total de gestantes con Índice de higiene oral regular, el 63,5% tuvieron un conocimiento regular, el 35,8% un conocimiento malo y el 0,7% un conocimiento bueno. Del total de gestantes con Índice de higiene oral malo, el 66,7% tuvieron un conocimiento regular y el 33,3% tuvieron un conocimiento malo. Conclusiones: Se concluye que no se encontró relación estadística significativa (p_valor= 0.982 > 0.05) entre las variables nivel de conocimiento y el Índice de higiene oral.

Methodology: The study is descriptive, observational, correlational, prospective and cross-sectional cohort. Population 3805; Sample: 349 pregnant women. Results: There was a predominance of pregnant women between 15 and 20 years old with 22. The total of pregnant women with excellent oral hygiene index 50% had a regular and poor knowledge respectively. Of the total number of pregnant women with a good oral hygiene index, 60.5% had regular knowledge, 39% poor knowledge and 0.5% good knowledge. Of the total of pregnant women with a regular oral hygiene index, 63.5% had regular knowledge, 35.8% poor knowledge and 0.7% good knowledge. Of the total of pregnant women with a poor oral hygiene index, 667% had regular knowledge and 33.3% had poor knowledge.
