description El derecho al olvido ha ganado importancia en la época digital a causa del uso indebido de datos personales y las infracciones a la privacidad que esto implica. En Perú, la salvaguarda de la privacidad se ha convertido en un desafio cada vez mayor en un ambiente digital cada vez más interrelacionado. Este análisis examina las leyes de Perú en relación al derecho al olvido, valorando su efectividad y contrastándola con regulaciones internacionales como el Reglamento General de Protección de Datos (GDPR) de la Unión Europea. Mediante un método cualitativo, se analizan fuentes doctrinales, jurisprudenciales y casos específicos para detectar lagunas regulatorias y posibles optimizaciones en la normativa. Pese a los progresos, como la Ley Nº. 29733, aún existen fallos en la puesta en marcha del derecho al olvido. Resalta la necesidad apremiante de reformar la ley peruana para ajustarla al entorno digital, asegurando un balance entre la privacidad, la libertad de expresión y el acceso a información.
