description La presente investigación titula “Comportamiento hidráulico en un tramo del río Chacchan durante caudales máximos con fines de instalación de Sistema de Alerta Temprana, Ancash 2022”. Se fijó como objetivo general: determinar el comportamiento hidráulico en un tramo del río Chacchan durante caudales máximos para implementar un Sistema de Alerta Temprana Ancash 2022 y como objetivos específicos: hallar la magnitud de velocidad, tirantes hidráulicos y rugosidades de cauce en un tramo del río Chacchan. Como metodología se aplicó el método científico, del tipo básico, del nivel descriptivo y de diseño cuasi-experimental. Los resultados obtenidos fueron que el número de Froude varía entre 0.90 y 3.50, y el valor más frecuente de 1.20 en un régimen de flujo supercrítico. La investigación muestra como conclusión que el tramo del río Chacchan muestra un comportamiento en régimen predominante de flujo supercrítico y se identificó zonas en riesgo en estructuras como en pase aéreo y en la entrada de un desarenador. La importancia y contribución de esta investigación radica en la identificación de zonas vulnerables y el estudio del comportamiento hidráulico en un tramo del río Chacchan para un futuro Sistema de Alerta Temprana que solucionará el problema de falta de prevención antes desbordes ribereños.
