La población estuvo conformada por 2749 historias clínicas y la muestra fue de 175. La técnica utilizada fue el análisis documental y el instrumento fue la ficha de recolección de datos. Para el análisis estadístico se usó el programa SPSS v25. Los principales hallazgos fueron: (1) prevalencia de tuberculosis del 6,4%; (2) la baciloscopia fue el examen inicial más solicitado (98,3%); (3) el esputo fue la muestra biológica más común (98,2%); (4) el sexo masculino presentó mayor incidencia (65,1%); y el grupo etario más afectado fue de 18 a 26 años (36%). En conclusión, los casos de tuberculosis diagnosticados en pacientes adultos atendidos en el Hospital durante el periodo 2020 - 2024 se presentaron con mayor frecuencia en varones jóvenes. Asimismo, el esputo fue la muestra más utilizada, siendo la baciloscopia la técnica diagnóstica de elección, por su alta accesibilidad y bajo costo. No obstante, el cultivo es el método gold estándar para el diagnóstico de tuberculosis.
