El crecimiento en la demanda de servicios tecnológicos y la expansión de redes inalámbricas, antenas, cables y centros de datos han traído consigo consecuencias ambientales que requieren atención. El estudio identifica los principales efectos negativos, como el consumo energético elevado, la generación de residuos electrónicos, la alteración del paisaje natural y la posible afectación a la biodiversidad local. A través de un enfoque mixto, que incluye trabajo de campo, encuestas a la comunidad universitaria y revisión documental, se evalúan los niveles de conciencia ambiental y las políticas de gestión implementadas por la universidad. Los resultados revelan una limitada planificación ambiental en la instalación de infraestructuras, así como una baja percepción del impacto por parte de usuarios y administradores. Finalmente, se proponen estrategias sostenibles que incluyen la optimización del consumo energético, la gestión adecuada de residuos electrónicos y la integración de criterios ambientales en futuros proyectos tecnológicos.
