Se realizó este estudio en 29 familiares de pacientes con diagnóstico de Esquizofrenia que acudieron al servicio de emergencia del Hospital Víctor Larco Herrera en los meses agosto, setiembre y octubre 2023. Se aplicó dos tipos de cuestionarios elaborados para medir el funcionamiento familiar y cuestionario de adherencia al tratamiento. Se realizo la encuesta a un total de 29 familiares de pacientes con esquizofrenia, hospitalizados en el servicio de emergencia del Hospital Larco Herrera. De los resultados obtenidos se tienen que, la mayoría de las familias de pacientes con esquizofrenia presentan limitaciones y dificultades para la adherencia al tratamiento de paciente con esquizofrenia. Respecto al funcionamiento familiar la mayoría de las familias no estarían afrontando adecuadamente la situación de tener un paciente con esquizofrenia y estarían respondiendo negativamente; lo cual estaría influyendo negativamente en la adherencia al tratamiento.
