description The footwear manufacturing industry in Peru has been recovering from an economic crisis generated by the COVID 19 pandemic. Proof of this is the survival of companies with an efficient inventory management, production plan and quality of the product or service offered. The main objective of this research is to demonstrate the considerable impact of the implementation of Lean tools to increase efficacy in a footwear workshop. Consequently, several pain points were identified that caused the low efficacy, mainly due to the poor distribution of workstations and unproductive idle times. The proposed improvement model was composed of the following tools: Systematic Layout Planning, 5S and Work Standardization. Likewise, the Arena simulation tool was used to evaluate the results and validate the improvement proposal. As a result, 79% of the OTIF efficacy indicator was achieved, effort was reduced by 40.6% and cycle time was reduced by 2%.
