description The purpose of this study is to find out which Industry 4.0 tools are applicable in the food supply chain to implement sustainability practices positively in the food supply chain; since food supply chains have the characteristic of being among the most inefficient in terms of sustainability and the biggest generators of waste and resource consumption. Since the applications of Industry 4.0 technologies for development seem to attract more and more attention from professionals and academics, and in turn these have had a positive impact on sustainability in other types of industries, we seek to know which Industry 4.0 tools have a greater impact on the sustainability of food supply chains. In this context, an analytical approach is proposed to broadly understand the sustainable performance of I4.0 in the food sector. Through a systematic review, the article aims to obtain definitions of the concepts involved and their relationships and implementations in order to know the tools capable of generating sustainability in the food supply chain and to be able to answer the following research questions: ¿ What are the Industry 4.0 tools that positively influence sustainability aspects in FSCs? ¿Which tools are better than others for optimizing sustainability in FSC? In order to be able to answer these research questions,the articles obtained in the search were analyzed using trend and bibliometric analysis. In addition, the study is in charge of defining and relating the concepts of industry 4.0, circular economy and sustainability in the food supply chain.

In addition, the study is in charge of defining and relating the concepts of industry 4.0, circular economy and sustainability in the food supply chain.El propósito de este estudio es encontrar qué herramientas de la Industria 4.0 que son aplicables en la cadena de suministro de alimentos para implementar prácticas de sostenibilidad positivamente en esta; ya que las cadenas de suministros de alimentos tienen como característica ser de las más ineficientes en términos de sostenibilidad y de las mayores generadoras de desperdicios y consumo de recursos. Debido a que las aplicaciones de las tecnologías de la Industria 4.0 para el desarrollo parecen atraer cada vez más la atención de los profesionales y académicos, y a su vez estas han tenido un impacto positivo sobre la sostenibilidad en otro tipo de industrias, se busca conocer cuáles son las herramientas de la industria 4.0 con un mayor impacto sobre la sostenibilidad de las cadenas de suministros de alimentos. En este contexto, se propone un enfoque analítico para comprender ampliamente el rendimiento sostenible de la I4.0 en el sector alimentario. A través de una revisión sistemática, el artículo pretende obtener definiciones de los conceptos implicados y sus relaciones e implementaciones para conocer las herramientas capaces de generar sostenibilidad en la cadena de suministro alimentaria y poder responder a las siguientes preguntas de investigación: ¿ ¿Cuáles son las herramientas de la Industria 4.0 que influyen positivamente en los aspectos de sostenibilidad en las FSC? ¿ ¿Qué herramientas son mejores que otras para optimizar la sostenibilidad en las FSC? Para poder responder a estas preguntas de investigación, los artículos obtenidos en la búsqueda se analizaron mediante análisis de tendencias y bibliométrico.
