This applied review seeks to examine the relationship between executive functions and pragmatic communication in autistic individuals through the review of previous studies. This applied search was conducted following the PRISMA guidelines (Bonfill & Urrutia, 2013) in the Scopus, Web of Science, and Scielo databases. Considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria, ten articles were selected that measured executive functions and pragmatic communication in the autistic population. It was found that there is a positive and statistically significant relationship between pragmatic communication and executive functions. It is concluded that executive functions explain some social and communicational deficits in the autistic community. Additionally, this relationship is mediated by variables of self-management and socialization.

Additionally, this relationship is mediated by variables of self-management and socialization.Las personas autistas presentan notables dificultades socio comunicacionales al entablar y mantener una conversación, percibir las intenciones de otros, expresar emociones y deseos, todo lo cual forma parte de la comunicación pragmática. Existen variables que podrían explicar estas dificultades, una de ellas las funciones ejecutivas. La presente revisión aplicada busca examinar la relación entre las funciones ejecutivas y la comunicación pragmática en las personas autistas a través de la revisión de estudios previos. Se realizó una búsqueda aplicada siguiendo los lineamientos de la guía PRISMA (Bonfill & Urrutia, 2013) en las bases de datos Scopus, Web of Science y Scielo. Tomando en consideración los criterios de inclusión y exclusión propuestos, se seleccionaron diez artículos que midieron las funciones ejecutivas y la comunicación pragmática en la población autista. Se encontró que existe una relación positiva y estadísticamente significativa entre la comunicación pragmática y funciones ejecutivas. Se concluye que las funciones ejecutivas explican algunos de los déficits sociales y comunicacionales en la comunidad autista.
