The methodology used is Feasible Generalized Least Squares, to solve heteroskedasticity problems. The results mainly show that the level of education achieved had a negative impact on the crime rate.

The results mainly show that the level of education achieved had a negative impact on the crime rate.La presente investigación usa datos de paneles de la tasa de criminalidad para un grupo de departamentos del Perú por el periodo de 2012 al 2017, basados en los datos del Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática, los reportes anuales de criminalidad de la Policía Nacional del Perú y el Ministerio de Salud del Perú, para analizar la relación de la educación y la tasa de criminalidad tanto entre departamentos como a través del tiempo; así mismo, se utilizó a la victimización como tasa de criminalidad. La metodología utilizada es Mínimos Cuadrados Generalizados Factibles para solucionar los problemas de heterocedasticidad.
