(2017) and Angermeyer (2015). The conclusions suggest that, in the first place, the relation between Translation theory and language ideologies relies on the influence of cultural identity and power relationships within society. Regarding the Translators’ role, they can transfer their language ideologies through the way they translate. These ideologies can also be found in social and institutional spheres, and many of them weaken concrete actions in favor of specific citizens.El presente artículo tiene como objetivo explorar el rol y las consecuencias de las ideologías lingüísticas dentro del campo de la traducción. Para ello, nos enfocamos en tres niveles: la teoría de la traducción, el traductor, y el ámbito institucional y social. Asimismo, tomamos como referencia principal las investigaciones realizadas por Lee (2013), Andrade et al. (2017) y Angermeyer (2015). Nuestras conclusiones sugieren que, en cuanto a la teoría de la traducción, su relación con las ideologías lingüísticas radica en la influencia de la identidad cultural y las relaciones de poder dentro de una sociedad. Desde el rol del traductor, este muchas veces suele traspasar directamente sus ideologías lingüísticas a través de la manera como traduce.
