From an analysis of the elements involved in that game, we will see that artistic creation, as an explicatio of the notions that it carries within itself, provides the appropriate instance and tool for this purpose. Therefore, we will follow the trail of the vis inventiva to find the powers of the soul and accentuate an important aspect in which the human mens is imago Dei: the free creative force.El objetivo del presente trabajo es aproximarse a la forma en que el hombre se conoce a sí mismo a través del curioso juego de la bocha planteado en De ludo globi. La respuesta que plantea este trabajo es que, si ha de conocerse, el alma humana debe salir de sí misma. A partir de un análisis de los elementos involucrados en dicho juego, veremos que la creación artística, como explicatio de las nociones que aquella lleva en sí misma, proporciona la instancia y herramienta adecuadas para este fin. Por ende, seguiremos el rastro de la vis inventiva para descubrir las potencias del alma y acentuar un aspecto importante en el cual la mens humana es imago Dei: la fuerza creativa libre.spaPontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
