Sumario:Dioxins and furans are very toxic organic compounds, they are formed as by-products of industrial processes; they are fat soluble, bioaccumulative, stable and inert to chemical and biological reactions. Due to its high toxicity, its analysis in fishmeal is essential for exportation or for sale in the national market; its permissible limit according to WHO is 1.25 ng / kg. Most service laboratories do not have a method for this type of analysis, so it is outsourced to foreign laboratories and delays the response time, which is why it is proposed to implement a method for this analysis using a gas chromatograph coupled to a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer (GC / MS-TQ), equipment available. To develop the method for the analysis of dioxins and furans, the detection limit is determined, the calibration curve and after that a sample of fishmeal is analyzed using its quality controls. The detection limits obtained for dioxins are: 0.25ug / L for 2,3,7,8-TCDD and 1,2,3,7,8-PeCDD; 0.5ug / L for 1,2,3,4,7,8-HxCDD, 1,2,3,6,7,8-HxCDD and 1,2,3,7,8,9-HxCDD; 1ug / L for 1,2,3,4,6,7,8-HpCDD and OCDD; for the 10 furans it is 0.5 ug / L. The linearity curves have R2 greater than 95%. The reportable value of sum of dioxins and furans of the analyzed sample 0.0669 ng / kg, which is less than the maximum permissible limit.
