Sumario:Introduction: Treatment with FDP is a minimally invasive therapy that is inexpensive, does not require caries removal and is easy to apply. It is suggested for patients at high risk for cavities, including those with behavioral or medical complications. Objective: To determine what is the perception and level of acceptance of the parents about the staining of dental tissues associated with the use of the FDP in the Pediatric Dentistry Service of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in 2019. Materials and methods: The present study is descriptive, cross-sectional, where 259 surveys were conducted with parents and guardians of children aged 2 to 6 years. For the sample calculation, the formula of known populations was used, considering: Population: 799, p: 0.5, confidence level: 95%, error: 0.05, the minimum sample size surveyed is 259 parents and guardians of children from 2 to 6 years old. Results: 76% of the parents considered the staining produced by FDP in posterior teeth acceptable, compared to 48% who considered it acceptable in anterior teeth. The parents were more accepting of the staining produced after the application of the FDP in posterior teeth if their child had previously received treatment with physical restraint, conscious sedation, nitrous oxide or general anesthesia. Conclusion: There was a higher level of parental acceptance in posterior teeth to the staining produced after the application of FDP than in anterior teeth.
