The polymerization times and polishing procedures set by the manufacturer were strictly adhered to.  sample processing and analysis were perfomed at the Microbiology Laboratory of the Academic Health and Wellness Unit at the Azogues campus of the Catholic University of Cuenca. Results: Both the 100% peppermint extract and 5% sodium hypochlorite were shown to inhibit the growth of Candida albicans after 15 minutes of exposure. Conclusions:  The 100% peppermint extract and 5% sodium hypochlorite have antifungal activity in inhibiting the growth of Candida albicans on acrylic dental prostheses.Objetivos: Evaluar el efecto in vitro, anti Candida albicans del extracto de menta al 100% versus hipoclorito de sodio al 5% en prótesis dentales de acrílico. Materiales y Metodos: Este análisis experimental in vitro se llevó a cabo con 30 piezas de resina acrílica termocurada, de 15 mm de longitud x 15 mm de espesor, fabricadas con atributos parecidos a los de una prótesis acrílica parcialmente removible. Se cumplieron rigurosamente los tiempos de polimerización y los procedimientos de pulido fijados por el productor. La tarea de procesar y examinar las muestras tuvo lugar en el Laboratorio de Microbiología de la Unidad Académica de Salud y Bienestar del campus Azogues de la Universidad Católica de Cuenca. Resultados: El extracto de menta al 100% y el hipoclorito de sodio al 5% demuestran que inhiben el crecimiento de Candida albicans en un tiempo de exposición de 15 minutos.
