Next, the bleaching agent was applied to the samples, according to the manufacturer's instructions. The surface microhardness of enamel was evaluated by Vickers microhardness test, before and after application of the bleaching agent. The relationship between variables was evaluated using Student's t-test. Results: The study found no significant differences between the microhardness groups treated with 15% and 35% carbamide peroxide, both at the beginning and after the application of the bleaching agent (p:0.160 and p:0.584 respectively). However, when considering the concentrations separately, both bleaching agents caused a decrease in the microhardness of the enamel (p<0.001 in both cases).  Conclusions: Both bleaching agents caused a decrease in the superficial microhardness of the enamel, the effect was similar for both concentrations.Objetivos: Comparar el efecto de agentes clareadores a base de peróxido de carbamida en distintas concentraciones, sobre la microdureza del esmalte bovino. Materiales y Métodos: Estudio experimental in vitro. Se emplearon 60 muestras de esmalte bovino, divididas en dos grupos según el agente asignado: peróxido de carbamida (Opaslescense PF, Ultradent), al 35% y 15%. Seguidamente se aplicó el agente clareador sobre las muestras, según las indicaciones del fabricante. La microdureza superficial del esmalte fue evaluada mediante el análisis de Vickers, antes y después de aplicarse el agente clareador. La relación entre variables se evaluó mediante la prueba t de Student. Resultados: El estudio no encontró diferencias significativas en la microdureza del esmalte entre los grupos tratados con peróxido de carbamida al 15% y 35%, antes y después de la aplicación del agente clareador (p:0,160 y p:0,584 respectivamente). Sin embargo, al considerar las concentraciones por separado se encontró que ambos provocaron una disminución de la microdureza del esmalte (p<0,001 en ambos casos).
