This article seeks to explore the various facets of human trafficking, including its stages, modalities, and impacts on victims, while offering an introductory overview of the Peruvian context; it also reviews the national normative framework and the main international instruments related to human trafficking.En el Perú, la trata de personas representa aún un grave riesgo para su población femenina e infantil. Este flagelo opera en un entorno social complejo, lo que supone un desafío constante para nuestro país. Abordar dicho ilícito no solo implica un desafío para la protección de los derechos humanos, sino también enfrentar importantes amenazas de seguridad a nivel nacional e internacional. Bajo dicho contexto, el presente artículo busca explorar las diversas facetas de la trata de personas, incluyendo sus etapas, modalidades e impactos en las víctimas, al tiempo que ofrece una visión introductoria del contexto peruano.
