When it disappeared together with the entire religious edifice, all the memories of its presence were erased, making it necessary to divulge its history for the present and future of society.Las urbes virreinales solían tener una serie de pequeños espacios públicos anexos a las iglesias, que rompían la monotonía de una trama generalmente regular. Las dos plazuelas vecinas al antiguo templo juandediano de Lima componían un caso muy poco usual en la ciudad y al trascurrir el tiempo, fueron el escenario para violentos hechos históricos que marcaron la vida política peruana.
