The following pages make a precise identification and description, with respect to a specific type of historical source, The compositions of land, a documentation, which arises at the end of the 16th century, as a mechanism of regularization of the possession of the territory motivated by the Spanish crown, this documentation has a great historical evolution that reaches our days and is found in various archival repositories of our country. This documentary composition has generally been used for multiple investigations related to territoriality, society, heritage, lineages, among others. Also, this type of documentary is of enormous importance for two reasons: first, its historical development and second, its varied information, which is useful for understanding the formation and dynamics of territoriality in our country from colonial Peru to our republican life.
