This work highlights the lack of knowledge and evidence in Latin American countries, a crucial aspect given the classification of BIA-ALCL as a new pathological entity by the World Health Organization in 2016 (1).Sr. editor: Tras la lectura de Manjarres A et al., publicado en su prestigiosa revista en el año 2023, sobre cáncer e implantes mamarios, quisiera aportar datos adicionales referentes al linfoma anaplásico de células grandes asociado a implantes mamarios (LACG-AIM) en América Latina. Este trabajo subraya la escasez de conocimiento y evidencia en países latinoamericanos, un aspecto crucial dada la clasificación del LACG-AIM como una nueva entidad patológica por la Organización Mundial de la Salud en 2016 (1). El LACG-AIM es un raro linfoma no Hodgkin de células T, poco común, se ha vinculado a un aumento en riesgo debido al uso de implantes mamarios, especialmente de los texturizados (2).
