Premonitions and good intentions. Training and future of the architect graduated from three Peruvian, private and widely attended universities

Today, the training of architects has been oriented to socioeconomic sectors other than the hegemonic traditional one, with a wide and diverse number of schools, students and graduates. The academic information of the three private universities with the largest student population in Peru that offer a career in architecture was reviewed and their graduates and professors were surveyed. It was found that the academic approach remains in a traditional spectrum; that teachers have a diffuse and not always specialized experience; and that graduates, in many cases, end up teaching only because it is one of the most in-demand job opportunities: a loop. The professional academic future of this large group of graduates is apparently not promising.
