Sumario:Today, the training of architects has been oriented to socioeconomic sectors other than the hegemonic traditional one, with a wide and diverse number of schools, students and graduates. The academic information of the three private universities with the largest student population in Peru that offer a career in architecture was reviewed and their graduates and professors were surveyed. It was found that the academic approach remains in a traditional spectrum; that teachers have a diffuse and not always specialized experience; and that graduates, in many cases, end up teaching only because it is one of the most in-demand job opportunities: a loop. The professional academic future of this large group of graduates is apparently not promising.
