Astonishment, curiosity and the eagerness to clarify numerous questions raised are condensed, in some way, in the photographic work of Gertrude Duby, which we refer to as a perspective that combines the photographic technique with an ethnographic look typical of her time.El descubrimiento de las pinturas murales de Bonampak en la Selva Lacandona, en los años 40 de pasado siglo, provocó gran revuelo en los medios antropológicos, artísticos y gubernamentales, pues se abrían diversas cuestiones inquietantes, tanto sobre esta antigua civilización mesoamericana, como en relación con la población lacandona que habita en su entorno.
