Thus, Peruvian diplomats projected the Monroe Doctrine in their imaginaries, rhetoric, and foreign policy formulations, evidencing the significant influence of this ideological framework on the dynamics between Peru and the United States in the Pan American System. Two stages are distinguished that outlined the trajectory between Peru and the United States: an initial phase of rapprochement and elucidation of the doctrine (1900-1922), followed by a second phase of convergence (1923-1930).El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar el papel que cumplió la doctrina Monroe en el proceso de interacción y aproximación entre el Perú y los Estados Unidos durante el periodo comprendido entre 1900 y 1930. Durante este periodo, el Perú implementó diversas estrategias para acercarse a Estados Unidos, buscando su intervención en su disputa limítrofe con Chile. Fue así que los diplomáticos peruanos proyectaron la doctrina Monroe en sus imaginarios, retórica y formulaciones de política exterior, evidenciando la influencia significativa de este marco ideológico en las dinámicas entre el Perú y los Estados Unidos en el Sistema Panamericano.
