Therefore, this research attempts to approach the construction of contemporary Peru through the ideas of two intellectuals of the generation of 900 who continued to open the debate on modernity in Peru aimed at conceiving in the deepening of knowledge of the reality of a country run by an oligarchy that prevented any inclusion in the collective imagination of the nation. For this reason, many intellectuals have tried to influence the way our country is perceived and understoodEste artículo pretende acercarnos al imaginario político del Perú de la primera mitad del siglo XX por medio de las líneas de pensamiento de José Carlos Mariátegui y Víctor Andrés Belaúnde. Por ello, la presente investigación intenta aproximarse a la construcción del Perú contemporáneo por medio de las ideas de dos intelectuales de la generación del 900 quienes continuaron abriendo el debate de la modernidad en el Perú orientado a concebir en la profundización del conocimiento de la realidad de un país dirigido por una oligarquía que impidió toda inclusión en el imaginario colectivo de nación.
