Since the birth of the republic, architectural ideas brought from Europe in the 19th century have been installed and placed in our museums, thus generating an epidermal appropriation that would serve as a tool for valuation, adopting the imaginary of archaeologists in most the cases.La importancia que tiene la arquitectura como manifestación cultural desde su representación en la sociedad, ha sido para el museo una de sus herramientas más importantes. La historia de la arquitectura ha leído y amplificado desde su representación arquitectónica el simbolismo formal que poseen los edificios para museos, es así que en nuestro país el boom generado a partir de las corrientes neoliberales desde el Estado peruano a finales del siglo XX e inicios del siglo XXI, pudo colocar edificios que no estaban exentos a dichas valoraciones.
