The indian labourers revolted against the abuse of the functionaries, claiming the land that was theirs. The Jesuit intervention did not obtain order or pacification.En el repartimiento de Andaxes, corregimiento de Caja tambo, se produce en los primeros meses de 1663 una convulsión entre los pobladores, introduciendo elementos bélicos que conllevan a la destrucción de la casa del encomendero (símbolo de la autoridad española) y del obraje (modo de lograr mayor uso de la mano de obra indígena en la producción textil). Los antecedentes en la región nos presentan para el año de 1630 cuatro obrajes que disponían de ovinos en sus pastos y regiones aledañas y que permitían obtener la materia prima para el trabajo. Un nuevo obraje fue fundado en Churín, dando lugar al nuevo pueblo. La mano de obra indígena se rebeló ante el abuso de los funcionarios reclamando para sí las tierras que les pertenecía.
