The purpose of this paper is to analyze the relationship between innovation and internationalization, and whether the subsidiaries of multinationals are innovative. The methodology employed in this study was the analysis of documents and interviews. The results demonstrate that at least one-third of these subsidiaries have innovated.Las subsidiarias de empresas multinacionales han desempeñado un papel importante como agentes de procesos de industrialización en el estado de Paraná en Brasil. Desde los años 1960, más de quinientas empresas extranjeras se han ubicado en este estado, principalmente en la región metropolitana de Curitiba. Sus impactos económicos están relacionados con generación de empleo, riqueza, innovación y difusión de tecnología. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la relación entre innovación e internacionalización y si las subsidiarias de multinacionales son innovadoras. La metodología adoptada fue el análisis de documentos y entrevistas.
