El primero consiste en explicar el sustento y la racionalidad que subyace a las preocupaciones sobre el estado del medio ambiente, incidiendo en la circunstancia que un ambiente degradado traerá como consecuencia una limitación para el hombre de satisfacer sus necesidades, y, con ello, una ausencia de bienestar y de nivel de desarrollo. El segundo propósito es identificar algunos aspectos en que las cuestiones ambientales aparecen cercanamente ligadas a las empresas.
