| Sumario: | Biophilic design, conceptualized as the systematic integration of natural elements and the recreation of sensory experiences that strengthen the connection between humans and nature, is positioned as a multidimensional strategy to optimize the quality of life of users in living spaces, especially in shelters. This approach incorporates the maximization of natural light, the inclusion of green areas, the use of natural materials, and the facilitation of perceptual connections with the environment, with the aim of generating environments that foster safety, tranquility, and emotional well-being. From the perspective of architecture and urban design, considering these principles is essential for the development of spaces that not only improve the user experience but also contribute to environmental sustainability and the socio-environmental balance of communities. This study analyzes contemporary guidelines for biophilic design, assessing its application in various architectural and urban projects, and identifies both its benefits and the challenges associated with its implementation. The main objective is to deepen the understanding of biophilic design as a key tool for addressing current challenges in architecture and urban planning, promoting a harmonious and functional integration between individuals and their built environment. |
