Villa El Salvador, on the outskirts of Lima, faces challenges due to urban growth and energy demand. Therefore, it is essential to implement sustainable and energy-efficient strategies in housing to reduce consumption without compromising residents' comfort or quality of life. Architectural optimization includes proper building orientation, the use of insulating materials, natural ventilation, and renewable technologies. These measures can reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions, generating economic savings and increasing resilience to climate change. The study evaluates the application of these criteria in housing, demonstrating that energy efficiency is key to the district's sustainable development. A comprehensive search was conducted using a combination of key terms related to architectural optimization in housing for energy efficiency, and a time limit was set to include studies published between 2020 and 2024 to ensure the relevance of the research. 30 articles were reviewed, both nationally and internationally, of which 19 were excluded for not providing adequate information for the analysis. After collecting the data, the information was analyzed, classifying 11 articles that met the relevant criteria, which will be integrated into the following article. The relevant information was obtained by searching databases specialized in architectural design based on energy efficiency criteria in homes in Villa El Salvador. The main databases consulted were ProQuest, Alicia, ScienceDirect and Google Scholar. |

Por ello, es fundamental aplicar estrategias sostenibles y de eficiencia energética en las viviendas para reducir el consumo, sin comprometer el confort ni la calidad de vida de los habitantes. La optimización arquitectónica incluye la correcta orientación de edificios, uso de materiales aislantes, ventilación natural y tecnologías renovables. Estas medidas pueden reducir el consumo energético y las emisiones de CO2, generando ahorros económicos y aumentando la resiliencia ante el cambio climático. El estudio evalúa la aplicación de estos criterios en las viviendas, demostrando que la eficiencia energética es clave para el desarrollo sostenible del distrito. Se realizó una búsqueda exhaustiva, empleando una combinación de términos clave relacionados con la optimización arquitectónica en viviendas para la eficiencia energética, y se estableció un límite temporal para incluir estudios publicados entre 2020 y 2024, con el fin de asegurar la actualidad de la investigación. Se revisaron 30 artículos, tanto nacionales como internacionales, de los cuales 19 fueron excluidos por no proporcionar información adecuada para el análisis. Luego de recopilar los datos, se procedió a analizar la información, y se seleccionaron 11 artículos que cumplieron con los criterios pertinentes, los cuales fueron integrados en el presente estudio. La información relevante se obtuvo mediante la búsqueda en bases de datos especializadas en el diseño arquitectónico basado en criterios de eficiencia energética en viviendas de Villa El Salvador.
