Its search for information through qualitative techniques cooperated in the analysis until 1929. The paper's discourses on political views of yesteryear and today are part of that analysis. Throughout the text, the complex and multifaceted roles of the press in the construction of national narratives and in the documentation of historical events emerge.La prensa escrita cumple un rol crucial por eso el presente artículo gira particularmente entorno al periódico "El Pacífico". La Guerra del Pacífico, La Ocupación y el Proceso de Reincorporación de Tacna, son las coyunturas en las que el periódico se vincula. Su búsqueda como información a través de técnicas cualitativas nos coopera en el análisis hasta 1929. Los discursos del periódico en cuanto a opiniones políticas de antaño y hogaño son parte de ese análisis.
