The Love Attitudes Scale (LAS) by Hendrick and Hendrick (1986) adapted by Lascurain et al. was applied to them. (2016) and the emotional dependence scale validated by Ventura and Caycho (2016). Results: a significant relationship (p=0.000) was demonstrated between emotional dependence and attitudes about love ludus (rho=0.405), pragma (rho=0.294), mania (rho=0.391), agape (rho=0.205) and storge (rho=0.168). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the variables studied.Objetivo: determinar si existe relación significativa entre las actitudes sobre el amor y la dependencia emocional en estudiantes universitarios de la ciudad de Tarapoto. Metodología: de diseño no experimental de tipo correlacional simple, participaron 306 estudiantes universitarios (50.7% mujeres) de 18 a 46 años (Me=25.00; DE=5.875) escogidos mediante un muestreo no probabilístico de tipo bola de nieve. Se les aplicó la Escala de Actitudes sobre el Amor (LAS) de Hendrick y Hendrick (1986) adaptado por Lascurain et al. (2016) y la escala de Dependencia emocional validada por Ventura y Caycho (2016). Resultados: se demostró una relación significativa (p=0.000) entre dependencia emocional y las actitudes sobre el amor ludus (rho=0.405), pragma (rho=0.294), manía (rho=0.391), ágape (rho=0.205) y storge (rho=0.168).
