Introduction: Currently, it is possible to identify scientific evidence that an intentional, gradual and systematic development of emotional competencies in higher education complements the formative process and favors the personal well-being of students. Objective: to analyze the publications that consider the study of emotional competencies in higher education students between 2013 and 2022. Method: This study corresponds to a systematic review of the articles found in the Web of Science, Scopus and SciELO databases. Of the 90 articles initially found, the PRISMA methodology made it possible to reduce them to 26, which are reported in this paper. Results: the main findings indicate that relational studies are the most frequent (n=14). Likewise, the existence of educational programs aimed at promoting emotional competencies in higher education is reported (n=8), which indicates that educational research in this area is at an advanced stage of knowledge. Conclusion: based on these findings, it is possible to conclude that there is a growing scientific interest in promoting emotional education at the university level, based on the wide range of existing theories that support comprehensive training at this educational level. |

Objetivo: analizar las publicaciones que consideren el estudio de las competencias emocionales en estudiantes de Educación Superior entre los años 2013 y 2022. Método: Este estudio corresponde a una revisión sistemática de los artículos encontrados en las bases de datos Web of Science, Scopus y SciELO. De los 90 artículos encontrados inicialmente, la metodología PRISMA permitió reducirlos a 26, los cuales se informan en este trabajo. Resultados: los principales hallazgos indican que los estudios de tipo relacional son los más frecuentes (n=14). Asimismo, se reporta la existencia de programas educativos orientados a promover competencias emocionales en la educación superior (n=8), lo cual indica que la investigación educativa en esta área, se encuentra en una etapa avanzada de conocimiento. Conclusión: a partir de ellos, es posible concluir que existe un interés científico creciente por promover la educación emocional a nivel universitario, basándose en la amplia gama de teorías existentes que sustentan una formación integral en este nivel educativo.Introdução: Atualmente, é possível identificar evidência científica de que um desenvolvimento intencional, gradual e sistemático das competências emocionais no ensino superior complementa o processo de formação e favorece o bem-estar pessoal dos estudantes. Objetivo: analisar as publicações que contemplam o estudo das competências emocionais em estudantes do ensino superior entre 2013 e 2022. Método: este estudo corresponde a uma revisão sistemática dos artigos encontrados nas bases de dados Web of Science, Scopus e SciELO. Dos 90 artigos inicialmente encontrados, a metodologia PRISMA permitiu reduzi-los a 26, que são relatados neste trabalho. Resultados: os principais achados indicam que os estudos relacionais são os mais frequentes (n=14). Do mesmo modo, é referida a existência de programas educativos destinados a promover as competências emocionais no ensino superior (n=8), o que indica que a investigação educativa nesta área se encontra numa fase avançada do conhecimento.
