In Petri dishes with brain heart agar (BHA), the strain was disseminated, and the four natural compounds were placed on Whatman paper disks to incubate for 24 hours under anaerobic conditions. The diameters of the inhibition halos were measured with a digital vernier caliper. The data obtained were statistically examined using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey's post-hoc test. Results: The muña compound showed the greatest inhibition halo (5.975 ± 0.050 mm), followed by mint, Jalk propolis, and propolis tincture, in that order. The control endodontic cement showed the greatest inhibition halo (18.050 ± 0.451 mm), followed by the mint-containing cement (16.498 ± 0.460 mm). Conclusions: The muña compound presented the highest antibacterial activity against E. faecalis, while propolis tincture had the lowest antibacterial activity. On the other hand, experimental endodontic cement with natural compounds decreased the antibacterial activity concerning pure cement. |

En placas de Petri con agar cerebro-corazón (BHA), se diseminó la cepa y se colocaron los cuatro compuestos naturales en discos de papel Whatman a incubar por un período de 24 horas bajo condiciones anaeróbicas. Los diámetros de los halos de inhibición fueron medidos con un vernier digital. Los datos obtenidos fueron examinados estadísticamente mediante el análisis de varianza (ANOVA) y la prueba post-hoc de Tukey. Resultados: El compuesto de muña arrojó el mayor halo de inhibición (5,975 ± 0,050 mm), seguido de la menta, el propóleo Jalk y la tintura de propóleo, en ese orden. Os diâmetros dos halos de inibição foram medidos com um vernier digital. Os dados obtidos foram examinados estatisticamente pela análise de variância (ANOVA) e teste post-hoc de Tukey. Resultados: O composto de muña apresentou o maior halo de inibição (5,975 ± 0,050 mm), seguido pela hortelã-pimenta, própolis Jalk e tintura de própolis, nessa ordem. O cimento endodôntico de controle apresentou o maior halo de inibição (18,050 ± 0,451 mm), seguido pelo cimento com hortelã-pimenta (16,498 ± 0,460 mm). Conclusões: O composto de muña apresentou a maior atividade antibacteriana contra E. faecalis, enquanto a tintura de própolis apresentou a menor atividade antibacteriana.
