Emotional intelligence and work environment of employees at a supermarket included in the Great Place to Work ranking in the city of Arequipa, 2023

The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and work environment among employees of a supermarket included in the Great Place to Work ranking in Arequipa, Peru. A basic and quantitative methodological approach was used, with a non-experimental and descriptive–correlational design. A total of 80 participants completed two instruments: the Bar-On ICE Questionnaire and the Work Environment Perception Scale. The results indicated that the perceived work environment showed a positive and significant relationship with overall emotional intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, and mood. The relationship between stress management and work environment was negative. These results suggest that emotional intelligence influences the work environment of this organization.
