The study collected a total of 737 valid surveys, which came mainly from houses (60.5%) and apartments (37.3%). The results show that 46.0% of the houses had dogs and 16.4% had cats. The average number of animals per dwelling was 1.4 for dogs and 1.8 for cats. The human: dog ratio was 5.4, and the human: cat ratio was 12.3. The percentage of survival of their offspring was 84% in dogs and 81.8% in cats and estimated life expectancy was 11.5 and 5.8 years, for domestic dogs and cats, respectively. Among dogs, there was a prevalence of male (53.6%), small size (49.4%), undefined breed (50.6%), non-sterilized (61.2%), and age average of 5.3 years. Among cats, there was predominance of females (57%), sterilized (69.1%), undefined breed (90.3%) and age average of 4.1 years. It is expected that the information presented in the research can contribute to the competent authorities in relation to the management and policies of responsible pet ownership in the specific sector of study.El objetivo del estudio fue describir los indicadores demográficos de la población de canes y felinos domésticos con dueño en el distrito de Lince, Lima. La investigación tomó como base el uso de encuestas. La población de estudio fueron las viviendas de cinco sectores del distrito de Lince. El estudio recolectó un total de 737 encuestas válidas, donde el 60,5% provinieron de casas y 37,3% de departamentos. Los resultados muestran que el 46,0% de las viviendas poseían canes y 16,4% poseían felinos. El promedio de can y felino por vivienda fue de 1,4 y 1,8, respectivamente. Asimismo, la relación persona: animal fue de 5,4 para canes y 12,3 para felinos. El porcentaje de supervivencia de las crías para canes fue de 84% y 81,8% para felinos. La esperanza de vida estimada para canes y felinos domésticos fue de 11,5 y 5,8 años, respectivamente. En canes predominó la tenencia de machos (53,6%), de tamaño pequeño (49,4%), de raza no definida (50,6%), no esterilizados (61,2%) y con una edad promedio de 5,3 años. En el caso de los felinos, predominaron hembras (57%), esterilizados (69,1%), de raza no definida (90,3%) y edad promedio de 4,1 años.
