The actual existence of cyanide in very significant environmental catastrophes indicates that the cyanide management in the mining operation must be improved. Specifically, disposing right standard in the design and the construction of tailing disposals, water managing, qualification and training labor, fauna protection and the good operation of the systems of warning and emergency, all are areas of high-priority attention. The main reasons of the environmental incidents in the mining operations comes from poor design of management of process waters, the design and the construction and maintenance of tailing disposals, in addition to the frequent accidents in the cyanided pulp transport. In the present investigation, we try to get a cyanide layout of the gold and silver recovery process in the plant of processes of Orcopampa of Buenaventura Company of mines, In order to get it we have sampled with a representative method the pulp and the solutions containing cyanide, to be analyzed in the mining company laboratory.On the basis of the results and the HCN measurements in different places of the metallurgical process we have completed an risk analysis caused by this cyanide consumption with the determination of the present and potential hazards in each stages. After discussing the principles of «good practices» and the philosophy of the «International Code of the Cyanide» and their application to the process used in the mentioned mining unit, we look the profits that are agree with the predicted effort and it is proposed an action plan. |

Más específicamente, el contar con acertados estándares en el diseño y en la construcción de las presas de relaves, de la gestión del agua, de la capacitación y entrenamiento de la mano de obra, de la protección de la fauna y del buen funcionamiento de los sistemas de aviso y emergencia, son áreas de atención prioritaria. Las principales razones de los incidentes ambientales en las explotaciones mineras provienen del pobre diseño de la gestión de las aguas de proceso, del diseño y la construcción de las presas de relaves y de su mantenimiento, además de los frecuentes accidentes en el transporte de pulpas cianuradas. Con el presente trabajo de investigación, se pretende realizar la definición del trazado y caracterización del cianuro a lo largo del proceso de recuperación del oro y la plata en la planta de procesos de Orcopampa de Buenaventura Cia. de minas. Para ello se realizaron muestreos sistemáticos representativos tanto de la pulpa como de las soluciones que contienen cianuro, para ser analizadas luego en el laboratorio de la empresa minera, en las tres categorías que se puede presentar este compuesto. En base a los resultados y las mediciones de HCN en los diferentes ambientes del proceso metalúrgico se pretende realizar un Análisis de Riesgo provocado por este consumo de cianuro en la planta de procesos, con la determinación de los peligros actuales y potenciales en cada una de las etapas, calificándolos como paso previo a la propuesta de soluciones para disminuir el riesgo a niveles aceptables.
