Since their first meeting in 1928 there was already a very marked rivalry, Pulgar Vidal’s work allows us to understand the pre-existing rivalry between both teams through a review of the characteristics of Lima society at the beginning of the s. XX. Reaching the conclusion that, in that first game of 1928, two clubs that represented different social, economic and political sectors within the highly fragmented Lima society faced each other.Los partidos disputados por los equipos de Alianza Lima y Universitario de Deportes en el futbol peruano son los más atractivos para los fanáticos de este deporte. Más allá de lo futbolístico, lo que hace de estos encuentros tan especiales es la rivalidad histórica que sostienen estos clubes. Desde su primer encuentro en 1928 ya existía una rivalidad muy marcada, la obra de Pulgar Vidal permite entender la rivalidad preexistente entre ambos equipos mediante un repaso de las características de la sociedad limeña de inicios del s. XX. Llegando a la conclusión que, en ese primer partido de 1928, se enfrentaban dos clubes que representaban sectores sociales, económicos y políticos diferentes dentro de la muy fragmentada sociedad limeña.As partidas disputadas pelas equipes Alianza Lima e Universitario de Deportes no futebol peruano são as mais atrativas para os fãs deste esporte. Além do futebol, o que torna esses encontros tão especiais é a rivalidade histórica entre esses clubes. Desde o seu primeiro encontro em 1928 já existia uma rivalidade muito marcada, o trabalho de Pulgar Vidal permite-nos compreender a rivalidade pré-existente entre ambas as equipas através de uma revisão das características da sociedade Lima no início da s. XX.
