Sumario:Introduction. Percutaneous renal biopsy is one of the procedures that has contributed most to the knowledge of kidney diseases. Our country does not have updated data on this specific topic. Our objective is to report the proportion of different types of primary and secondary glomerulopathies in renal biopsies performed by the Nephrology Service of the National Hospital Dos de Mayo from 2007 to 2016. Methods. Retrospective case series with review of records clinics in the Nephrology Service of the Dos de Mayo National Hospital. The renal biopsies registry of the Nephrology Department was taken from 2007 to 2016. The results of the reports of renal biopsies were reviewed, the results are reported in proportions. Results. 139 kidney biopsies were recorded. In relation to primary glomerulopathies, the most frequent cause reported was focal and segmental glomerulonephritis, then membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis with 50 (36%) and 26 (18,7%) cases respectively. Within the secondary glomerulopathies the most frequent cause was lupus nephritis with 5 (3,6%) cases. Conclusions. The focal and segmental glomerulonephritis is the most frequent report in the biopsies carried out in the Dos de Mayo National Hospital. This result correlates with the Latin American casuistry.
