| Sumario: | This article reflects on the perceptions and practices of inmates in the prisons of Córdoba, Argentina, based on some of the phenomenological concepts of Alfred Schutz (1973-1974) and authors Jurgen Habermas (1895-1994) and Axel Honneth (2010-2011), representatives of the Frankfurt School. It stems from the work conducted over three years for the Human Rights Observatory of the National University of Córdoba in the Bouwer and Cruz del Eje prisons in the province. The authors assume that prisoners, based on their experience, have developed practices of resistance within prison. Based on this, the article attempts to reflect on how the lifeworld constitutes a fragmented terrain, crisscrossed by class separation, a product of capitalist logic that reproduces these inequalities and reinforces mechanisms of social exclusion. In this sense, prison appears as a means of capturing the social surplus produced by capitalism, primarily concentrating the popular sectors. Finally, the paper analyzes the individual and collective actions taken by prisoners to denounce the violation of their rights within prisons. These actions are organized based on collective agreements and a shared sense of solidarity. |
