While some authors undisputed reputation affirm the real existence of specific centers for the different language modalities. others flatly deny the existence of special schools and consider language as the product of the integral activity of the brain. However, there is no denying the undeniable importance of certain districts and other lower brain centers play in the mechanism of this function.El aparato del lenguaje es de complejidad extraordinaria. Desde el descubrimiento del centro motriz de la palabra por BROCA en 1861 hasta las recientes investigaciones de PIERRE MARIE, se ha acumulado un inmenso número de observaciones anatomo-clínicas que, ha sido objeto de interpretaciones diversas. Mientras algunos autores de indiscutible notoriedad, afirman la existencia de verdaderos centros específicos, destinados a las diferentes modalidades del lenguaje. otros niegan rotundamente la existencia de centros especiales y consideran el lenguaje como el producto de la actividad integral del cerebro.
