Polioviruses were also isolated fron paralytic poliomyelitus patients in the Hospital del Niño de Lima, Four Type I and one Type III viruses were recovered from these patients.Se ha aislado poliovirus de casos de poliomielitis paralítica de la epidemia de Iquitos. De siete muestras de heces, se aisló un poliovirus de tipo I, dos de tipo II y dos del tipo III. También se aisló un virus del tipo III de un contacto asintomático. Se presume que la fuente de infección pudo provenir de un servicio de agua recientemente contaminado con materias fecales; ésta puede ser la causa de la aparición de los tres tipos de virus en una sola epidemia. Se airló asimismo poliovirus de pacientes de poliomielitis paralitica del Hospital del Niño de Lima.
