From the mentalistic theory and the three dimensions: cognitive, affective and behavioural, the subjective, cultural, explicit positive or negative evaluations towards the Quechua and Spanish languages are explained. Likewise, the influence of sociolinguistic traits such as age, school grade, family, and family context are also considered. A descriptive level of research with a qualitative approach is used. The results of the research show that the Spanish language is more highly valued than the Quechua language due to different needs, such as integration into the academic and working world, which leads to the influence of negative attitudes towards the native language. In conclusion, the Spanish language is more highly valued than the Quechua language by bilingual students in a public educational institution.Se analizan las actitudes lingüísticas de los escolares bilingües quechua-castellano de la comunidad Bello Progreso de la provincia de Huacaybamba en la región de Huánuco. Desde la teoría mentalista y las tres dimensiones: cognitiva, afectiva y conductual se explican las valoraciones subjetivas, culturales, explícitas positivas o negativas hacia las lenguas quechua y castellana. Asimismo, se considera la influencia de los rasgos sociolingüísticos edad, grado escolar, familia y contexto amical. Se usa el nivel de investigación descriptivo con un enfoque cualitativo. Los resultados de la investigación muestran una mayor valoración de la lengua castellana respecto de la lengua quechua por diferentes necesidades como la inserción al mundo académico y laboral que conlleva a la influencia de actitudes negativas hacia la lengua originaria.
