RESULTS: Very similar results, when astigmatism was not higher than 3 dioptries and hypermetropy was not higher than 2 dioptries, were obtained. CONCLUSIONS: Today, the most confident surgical technique for correction of mixed astigmatism is photoreactive keratotomy performed in two steps.OBJETIVO: Comparar los resultados obtenidos mediante la utilización de dos técnicas quirúrgicas diferentes (Excimer Láser vs. queratotomía arcuata) para la corrección de astigmatismos mixtos. MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: Estudio retrospectivo de 110 procedimientos de queratotomía arcuata en astigmatismos mixtos y 68 procedimientos con Excimer Láser, realizados en el Instituto de Oftalmología OftalmoSalud, Lima-Perú. RESULTADOS: Se obtuvieron resultados bastante similares cuando el astigmatismo no supera 3 Dioptrías y la hipermetropía no excede 2 dioptrías.
